Meet the Staff
We feel blessed to have a team of teachers who love children, enjoy working together and all have the common goal of fostering kind and happy kiddos who are developing through the stages of preschool growth. Take a moment to read about our teachers below.

Angela Helge,
Director &
Music Teacher
Experience: 20+ Years in Preschool Education
Hobbies: Sewing, Knitting and Music
I love this preschool! I have been a member of LPC since 2009 and became involved with the preschool and the Christian Education committee of the church about a year later. I received my teaching degree many years ago from Rhode Island College and always knew that educating children was my passion and that I would spend my life doing this in one way or another. This has held true whether in the classroom, with our two girls (now 17 and 14), with the children of the church or the girl scouts. Taking on the role of the preschool director has just given me more joy as I now get to support the teachers in our school while still teaching music every week. This is a special place to be!!

Tera Quink,
Turtles (2's) Teacher and STEM Assistant
Experience: First year in a preschool classroom but 10+ years nurturing children
Hobbies: Reading, Crocheting and Hiking
I am so excited to be a part of the Turtle and Stingray classes this year!
My husband and I met at West Point when we joined the Army but moved to Leesburg 7 years ago. We have 3 kids ages 10, 8, & 6–all of whom are at the same school this year! We love spending most of our free time at softball and baseball fields. I am looking forward to a great year!

Charlotte Yeglic,
Turtles (2's) Teacher
Experience: First year as a preschool classroom teacher but 7+ years nurturing children
Hobbies: Hiking, Skiing and Being active with my family and dog
I have been involved with LPC preschool for many years while my two kiddos (now second graders) were attending and even after they moved on. I have enjoyed being a substitute teacher, parent board member and also the bookkeeper for many years. I am happy to be teaching the 2's because playing, learning and staying on the move with the kids is so enjoyable.
My own twins keep me very busy in their many sporting and scouting activities.
Before moving to the metro area with my husband Joe in 2006 and then to Leesburg in 2015, I was born and raised in Augusta, GA where my mom was a teacher and I got my degree in business administration.

Sarah Blake,
Whales (2's) Teacher
Experience: 2+ Years in Early Childhood
Hobbies: Gardening, Reading and Being active outside
Before having my children and choosing to be a stay at home mom for the last 16 years to our wonderful kids Avery and Owen, I enjoyed a career in child and family therapy after getting my degree in clinical psychology.
In addition to spending time with my loving husband Sean or our adorable dog Harper, I love going to the beach or dreaming of going to the beach.
When I was younger I worked with the two and three year olds in my mom’s classroom so I am happy to be back enjoying the adventures that being with the LPCP two year olds provides.

Mary Ann Bischoff,
Whales (2's) Assistant
Experience: First year in the classroom but many years nurturing kids
Hobbies:
This past February my husband and I moved from New Jersey to Loudoun County to be near our son, daughter-in-aw and our first grandchild, Ethan.
I was an active member of our NJ church playing piano for the Sunday School and serving as a deacon. Once Ethan was born I decided to spend my retirement from healthcare taking care of him each day. Now that we have been working on learning new words, eating new foods, and talking about potty training I was ready to enjoy those same activities with our Whales while Ethan is in his own preschool class. I am thrilled we found Leesburg Presbyterian Church and now found LPCP.

Shelly Whitt,
Sea Stars (3's) Teacher
Experience: 4th Year at LPCP but many Years in church ministries and Preschool Education
Hobbies: Sewing, Crafting and Spending time with family
This may be my 4th year teaching at LPCP, but my love for this school started many years ago when my kiddos attended. The three of them have kept me very busy over the years in their church preschool age program, coaching/directing cheerleading, having an in-home daycare, being a Girl Scout leader or volunteering at their schools. Finding myself back in the preschool classroom reminded me how much I love teaching so during the pandemic I went back to school to pursue my teaching degree. It's going to be a great year!

DeLani Mathias,
Sea Stars (3's) Assistant
Experience: First year in the preschool classroom but many years working with young children
Hobbies: Hiking, Running and Photography
LPC Preschool holds a special place in my heart because when my husband, 3 beautiful children and I moved to Leesburg in 2019 we enrolled our youngest child in the 3’s class.
My passion has always been working with children, which I enjoyed as a school counselor for children ages 3-12, after getting my undergrad and graduate degrees from JMU and earning my MEd/EdS degree in school counseling.
My kiddos keep me very busy on the ball fields and horse rings (which I love).

Liz Kubie,
Pre-K Penguins Teacher
Experience: First year in the Classroom but 17+ Years Nurturing Kids
Hobbies: Cooking, Reading and Walking Our Dogs
My husband and I moved from Boston to Loudoun County with our three children 11 years ago. We enjoy going back to the New England area every year to catch a Red Sox game and to take an unplugged vacation in Maine.
Our teenagers keep me very busy with their love of lacrosse and figure skating. When I am not helping out at the field or the ring, I enjoy volunteering in their classrooms and other activities. Being with children of all ages brings such joy and I am excited to be in the Penguins class this year with Miss Shanan.

Shanan Burnside,
Pre-K Penguins Assistant
Experience: 4 Years in Preschool Education
Hobbies: Reading, Hiking and Traveling
I have been an active member of Leesburg Presbyterian Church for 11 years. I enjoy being on the Membership and Evangelism committee, serving as an usher and faithfully volunteering at VBS. Our youngest daughter Abby attended LPCP so when Angela asked me to join the teaching team, it was an easy yes since the preschool is the reason we joined this church with my husband John and older daughter Erin.
I was born in El Paso, TX but moved around a lot with my dad as a career Army officer. I enjoyed this opportunity to travel and see so many wonderful parts of the country before settling in NoVA in the late 80’s.

Becky Remy,
Stingray STEM Teacher
Experience: 10+ Years in Early Childhood
Hobbies: Spending time with family, Traveling, Reading and Baking
I received my B.S.Ed. from the University of Miami . Although I loved teaching my first graders, I ultimately decided to stay home to raise my (4) children. However, I continued to spend time in the classroom over the years, doing everything from room mom to helping students one-on-one every week. I am so happy to be back in the LPCP classroom again this year. Preschoolers are always excited to learn and eager to explore their new world which makes my job so much fun!
